Abdul Khaliq Al-Mukhtar
Overview
He was born in Baghdad in 1960 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts from the Department of Acting and Directing, the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad, in 1982, as well as a master’s degree in Dramatic Arts in 1989 from the same academy. He was a member of the National Acting Troupe and a founding member of the Ibrahim Jalal Theatrical Troupe. He also worked as a teacher at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad, Department of Dramatic Arts, from 1991 to 2001, and served as Head of the Acting Branch, Department of Dramatic Arts at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad for three years, and also worked as an executive producer in the field of private television production.
Despite his poor health, he presented many important works on television or theater with two films; Because of Love (1986), and Hakaka (2008), and among his most prominent theatrical works are Macbeth and Five Votes, The Psalms of Bab Al-Agha, and his TV series include Menawy Pasha S1and The Pasha. He received many Iraqi and Arab awards.
