Overview
Deborah "Devyn" Chuang is a Taiwanese-American film director, screenwriter, and producer. Her debut short film, "Mom, if I were a Vampire" (2022), premiered at NYC's NewFest, before screening in over 10 festivals, including Leeds International Film Festival, Outfest Fusion, Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and Taipei Film Festival.
Devyn was born in LA but raised in Taipei. She went to UC Berkeley and has worked as an investment banker, a realtor, and a Michelin-starred restaurant cook before beginning her MFA in film at Columbia University. Devyn is especially drawn to the horror genre, citing the Italian and Japanese horror masters as her main influences.
