Herardo Kontreras
Overview
Herardo Kontreras (Spanish: Gerardo Contreras, Russian: Херардо Контрерас; April 16, 1940, Mozhaysk – March 1, 2009) was an Estonian actor of Basque origin.
His parents fled to the Soviet Union from the Franco regime. His father had been a pilot in the Republican Army during the Spanish Civil War, and his mother a teacher.
In 1967, Contreras graduated from the Ivan Karpovich Karpenko-Kary State Institute of Theater, Cinema and Television in Kiev. From 1967 until his death, he was an actor at the Russian Drama Theater.
