Tommaso Dolcetta

Overview

Tommaso is a researcher in anthropology and a freelance photographer and filmmaker. He graduated in Economics at Bocconi University in Milan, but later on he received an MA in Anthropology and Development at the London School of Economics and an MRes in Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths College, London. He spent many years traveling and working in South East Asia & South America. Postcards From India was his first feature length documentary, following the release of the short "Akil – Awareness" in 2014; which was realized in collaboration with the anthropologist Dr. Michael P. Hoffman (Max Planck Institute) to portray the resurgence of the bonded labours “Kamayia” in Nepal. He has exploited visual media and performance as tools to explore and describe a variety of human behavior and cultures, with a peculiar interest in human and social (self) development.
