Igor Guayasamín
Overview
Igor Guayasamin is an Ecuadorian filmmaker, anthropologist, musician and constructor of architectural spaces. He has a Master in Anthropology (FLACSO, 2010), a Bachelor of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication (SEK University, 2005) and studies in Filmmaking at CUEC-UNAM Mexico – 1980. Since the 70's he has made more than thirty films within the anthropological documentary. His work addresses issues related to social movements and the cultural identity of indigenous peoples. He has received more than twenty international awards for his work as an artist.
