Overview
Joseph Nicholas Patrick Hamilton Jr. is a retired American professional wrestling referee, best known for his work in WCW and WWE. He is the son of wrestling legend Jody Hamilton and started as a referee in 1980 to make a name for himself. He had a brief wrestling career that ended due to a knee injury.
In WCW, he became the senior referee and was part of the New World Order (nWo) as a biased referee favoring its members, but later returned to being impartial. After WCW was purchased by WWE in 2001, he continued refereeing in the new company, including during the WCW/ECW invasion storyline, and served as head referee on SmackDown and in developmental territories. He retired in 2008 due to a back injury.
Afterwards, he worked as a commissioner and promoter in independent wrestling and revived the Deep South Wrestling promotion founded by his father in 2021. He also appears in several WWE video games.
