Armando Salas, ASC, is a cinematographer. Born in Havana, Cuba, he immigrated to the United States during the Mariel boatlift. He grew up in Miami, where his passion for filmmaking took root. As a teenager, he began shooting skateboarding videos and experimenting with Super 8 films while attending the New World School of the Arts.
Salas earned a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he pioneered a focus on narrative film production within a fine arts setting and developed a distinct visual voice. His upcoming work includes Netflix’s limited series Griselda, starring Sofía Vergara, and Marvel’s new series Wonder Man.
In 2020, Salas was inducted into the American Society of Cinematographers. As a proud ASC member, he remains dedicated to advancing the art of cinematography—mentoring emerging talent from diverse backgrounds and championing the craft amid evolving technologies.
