Overview
Saad Nadim (1920–1980) was an Egyptian documentary filmmaker and pioneer of Arab non-fiction cinema. Trained under John Grierson in England, he returned to Egypt to direct more than 65 films exploring culture, history, and national identity. He is remembered as a foundational figure in Egyptian documentary filmmaking.
