Overview
Hamdi Furkan Yildirim (b. 1994) is a writer, director, and cinematographer. In 2016 he co-founded Kontra Film, working across commercials, documentaries, and short narratives. As a cinematographer he has shot several short films while developing his own projects. His latest film, Defne (2025), which he wrote and directed, explores childhood, fear, and the weight of what remains after loss. He is interested in character-driven stories set in rural landscapes and in visual storytelling that favors silence over exposition.
