Overview

Ursula Bowling is a production designer and filmmaker from New York City and suburban London who graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2020. Prior to entering the film industry, Ursula was a practicing artist who studied at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the well known, conservatory high school, Fiorello H. LaGuardia. During her time there, her work was exhibited at the International Center of Photography and the Manhattan Borough Arts Festival. Four years ago, Ursula moved to Los Angeles where she has been working in various positions across the art department on short films, commercials, and print work. Most notably, Ursula wrapped production on Ripple Effect, a virtual production R&D short film partnered with Warner Brothers, Amazon Studios, and Epic Games. The project was commissioned to test several ways of integrating LED light screen technology into practical set building. Ursula collaborated with Halon Entertainment and ICVR to design virtual sets in Unreal Engine and led the art department in testing methods to improve the blend between practical and virtual sets.
