Huazhang Dai
Overview
Huazhang Dai is an award-winning composer and cinematographer. He graduated from USC Thornton School of Music with a Master of Music degree in Screen Scoring in 2015 and from USC School of Cinematic Arts with an MFA degree in Film & Television Production in 2019. He focuses on how to tell powerful stories both aurally and visually. Mentored by Jack Smalley and Bruce Broughton, he began work in Hollywood producing work for film, TV, and documentary.
His projects include: Love & Loss (Silver Medal, Documentary Domestic Film Schools, Student Academy Award), Empty Skies (Nominated, Narrative, Domestic Film Schools, Student Academy Awards, First Glance Film Festival, Cinema at the Edge Independent Film Festival), Worn Shoes (Newport Beach Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival), and Tailored to Fit (Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival).
