Shi Tiesheng
Overview
Shi Tiesheng was a prolific and celebrated Chinese author, best known for his story Life of a String which was the basis of the Chen Kaige film of the same name. He was paralyzed in an accident at the age of 21, during his work as a sent-down youth. He developed uremia in 1998 and required dialysis until he died in 2010 of cerebral hemorrhage.
