Emrah Serbes

Emrah Serbes (born January 28, 1981 in Yalova) is a Turkish writer.

Emrah Serbes studied drama in Ankara. He wrote reviews for the Turkish features. His first novel appeared in 2006, the second - also around the main commissioner Behzat Ç. - followed in 2008. On this basis, a television series of the same name was produced in Turkey in 2010. For the script, he and Ercan Mehmet Erdem 2010 received the Turkish Television Award for best screenplay. The novel Son hafriyat was filmed for the cinema under the title Seni Kalbime Gömdüm and had its premiere in October 2011 at the 48th Golden Orange Film Festival in Antalya.

Serbes moved to Istanbul in 2011. Serbes is a member of Beşiktaş Çarşı, a fan group of football club Beşiktaş Istanbul. He was a spokesman for the protests in Turkey in 2013. In 2013, he was acquitted of a charge of lese majeste and civil servants over a joke about Prime Minister Erdogan. However, since then he sees himself as marginalized and no more writing assignments are given to him.
