Iain Hamilton
Overview
Iain Ellis Hamilton was a Scottish composer. Born in Glasgow, he initially trained as an apprentice engineer in London, working as an engineer for seven years. He received a scholarship in 1947 to study at the Royal College of Music and subsequently worked as a composer. He was a professor at Duke University for twenty years, and returned to London.
