Stefan Schaller
Overview
Stefan Schaller (born July 9, 1982 in Munich) is a German screenwriter and film director.
After graduating from high school, Schaller studied politics and theatre studies in Munich. Following a stay abroad in Central America, he initially worked in screenplay development at Boje Buck Produktion in Berlin before beginning his studies in scenic directing at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg in October 2005. He successfully completed his studies in April 2012. His diploma film, 5 Jahre Leben (Five Years of Life), which deals with the imprisonment of German-Turkish citizen Murat Kurnaz in the US prison camp at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, had already won several awards.
