Nikola Lekić
Overview
Nikola Lekić (born April 3, 1999) initiated his piano journey at the age of 12, swiftly immersing himself in the world of competitions. By the age of 18, he had garnered 17 awards in national and international competitions in Serbia and beyond. Notably, he received accolades for his compositions, including an award in Monaco organized by Prince Albert II. Nikola showcased his compositions at esteemed venues in Belgrade, such as the Belgrade Philharmonic, SANU, Kolarac, the Italian Cultural Center, the Student Cultural Center, and various other concert halls across the city.
Upon completing secondary education, Nikola pursued conducting at the Academy of Music Arts in Belgrade. During his studies, he conducted orchestras and choirs throughout Serbia, concurrently serving as an assistant conductor at the Cultural Artistic Society “Obilić,” where he collaborated with a choir of over 60 members. Simultaneously, he focused on composing music for film and collaborated with student directors from the Academy of Dramatic Arts on six projects, working with ensembles of up to 44 members. Notably, Zoran Milenković, father of the renowned Serbian violinist Stefan Milenković, invited Nikola to collaborate on arranging a collection of compositions for the youth.
Graduating as a Summa cum Laude student in both undergraduate and master’s conducting programs, Nikola received the highest scholarships in Serbia. Currently, he exclusively focuses on composing music for film, TV, and video games. He has secured admission to Berklee Valencia for his second master’s studies. Throughout his academic journey, Nikola has undertaken numerous recordings with the Budapest Art Orchestra, musicians from the Palau de les Arts’ Orchestra, and is set to collaborate soon with “Air Studios” in London.
