Lance Murphy

Lance Murphy is a filmmaker based in Hurricane, Utah, who left behind a successful career in IT to pursue his lifelong passion for storytelling through film. With a background in professional drumming and a deep love for the creative arts, Lance brings a rhythmic, intuitive sensibility to his work behind the camera. His journey into filmmaking began with sound work on local productions and quickly evolved into directing, shooting, and editing his own projects.

Since making the leap, Lance has built a diverse resume across large productions, short films, documentaries, live streaming, and music videos—taking on roles from director and cinematographer to Steadicam operator, camera assistant, editor and can even be seen as a production assistant. Known for his hands-on approach, technical expertise, and collaborative spirit, Lance continues to carve out a space in the indie film world, driven by his love to be on set and a commitment to authentic storytelling and creative exploration.
