Sofía Vargas Rubilar

Sofía Vargas Rubilar holds a degree in Audiovisual Directing from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Throughout her studies, she has had the opportunity to explore various forms and materials in the creation of projects, working in documentary, fiction, and animation—fields that continue to inspire her.

Her academic journey was enriched by a previous experience in Psychology, a field she initially pursued. After some time, she decided to shift her path toward Audiovisual Directing, while still applying the knowledge gained from Psychology. These learnings have been key in the development of several of her projects, particularly those addressing themes related to childhood and puberty, where she has successfully integrated a deep and human perspective into her creative work.
