Kris Wu
Overview
Wu Yifan (吳亦凡; November 6, 1990), known professionally as Kris Wu (크리스 우) or as simply Kris (크리스), is Chinese-Canadian former singer and actor. He was a member of the boy group EXO and their sub-group EXO-M, before leaving the group in May 2014.
On 31 July 2021, Wu was detained by Beijing police after multiple rape allegations emerged on Chinese social media. In August 2021, the People's Procuratorate of Chaoyang District of Beijing approved his arrest on suspicion of rape. On 25 November 2022, the Beijing court sentenced Wu to a total of 13 years in prison for forcing three intoxicated women to have sex in his home, to be followed by deportation from China. Several hours later, the Beijing Municipal Tax Service announced he would also receive a 600 million yuan (US$84 million) fine for tax evasion.
Currently, Wu is still in prison.
