Overview
Selected for the Shoot New Directors Showcase in 2015, Jefferson Stein is an award-winning filmmaker from Texas based in Los Angeles. His short film, Tumble Dry Low, screened at over 30 festivals including Seattle International Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, and Tallinn Black Nights. It premiered online on Short of the Week and garnered over 2.5 million view on YouTube, becoming one of the most-watched dramatic short narrative films on the platform. His follow up short film, Burros, produced by Film Independent Spirit Award nominee Liz Cardenas (A24’s A GHOST STORY) was awarded a Film Independent fiscal sponsorship and premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. His debut feature script set in the same world as BURROS, I’ITOI (MAN IN THE MAZE), was named a 2020 Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting quarterfinalist by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
