Boris Kolar was born on April 14, 1933 in Zagreb, Croatia, Yugoslavia. He is a director and writer, known for Bumerang (1962), Professor Balthazar (1967) and Greetings from Croatia (1991).
As a director, Kolar is credited for six animated short films, among which are the NFB co-productions The Specialist (1971), and was the artistic director of the NFB and Zagreb Film's omnibus work Man the Polluter anthology, to which he contributed the short Reduction of People (00:22:42–00:25:42).
