Overview
Gary Leslie Whitta (born 21 July 1972, London, England) is an English-American screenwriter, author, game designer and former video game journalist. He began his career working on magazines such as ACE and helped found PC Gamer, later serving as editor-in-chief in both the UK and US editions. Whitta’s film credits include writing The Book of Eli (2010), co-writing After Earth (2013) with M. Night Shyamalan, and co-developing the story for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). In games, he has contributed to titles like Prey and The Walking Dead: The Game, and has served as a narrative consultant on projects including Halo 5: Guardians. He also writes fiction (novel Abomination, comics) and hosts digital talk-shows such as Animal Talking.
