Emma and Camila are best friends who dream of becoming musicians, but both are burdened by a strong family history. On the one hand, Emma lost her father and has since been unable to sing, and on the other, Camila's family forbids her from singing publicly because of a family secret she knows nothing about.

However, Emma and Camila make a music video together, in which Emma lip-syncs Camila's voice to compete in Prisma, a renowned Latin American talent show. This brings the friends their first musical success, but fame and their rivalry with Sasha, the most popular girl in school who is also participating in the competition, jeopardize Camila's family secret and their long-standing friendship.
