During the course of today's show, Christopher turns an underused dining room into a dual purpose family room and formal eating area. He first revisits some makeover projects from past shows on the telestrator, then goes through the ""before"" of the dining room, explaining the basic design elements he will add. Next, he introduces bookcases, a shelf and deacon's bench constructed to utilize a wall with windows, along with rolling carts to serve as both a sofa table and the base for a dining room table. He also offers tips on painting over wallpaper and discusses picking out dual purpose furniture like armoires. The deacon's bench is broken down into easy to build steps, and Christopher shows how to add decoupage designs to it.
