Deb Bowen – Holocaust Literacy Project - S3.E129

Dr. Debra Peppers Television host for "Outreach Connection" sits down with Deb Bowen of Aledo Illinois began a Holocaust literacy project in the Quad Cities in 2002. The vision began when she met three Jewish survivors from the area – each named Esther. To keep their stories alive, she networked with the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities, the Midwest Writing Center and area teachers. Survivors spoke in schools and students were asked to write and illustrate the story in a simple children's story book form.
