Stuck in a tiny apartment with their rambunctious young son, Evan, Kristine and Paul are desperate to buy a new spacious home. The Property Brothers come to the rescue and help the couple find a budget-friendly dream home that can be renovated on time. With a budget that doesn't match the couple's expectations, Drew and Jonathan struggle to sell the potential of a fixer-upper. While Kristine prefers to live downtown, Paul favours size, and the couple can't agree on anything. They finally decide between two big renovation projects, but the home inspection reveals a litany of problems that hammer their budget. With only five weeks to complete the job, Jonathan has to hustle. But when they rip out the walls, Jonathan uncovers potential danger. The renovation goes from bad to worse when every single aspect of the house seems severely damaged. Watching their dreams disintegrate, the couple struggles to keep cool while Jonathan races to finish the job on time and on budget.
