Caplan comes into contact with the Unseen, who tortured him to force him to admit his responsibility in the death of Mercks. For their part, Roxanne and Myriam Morlighem decide to remove and use them as bargaining chips. Impressed by the courage Caplan, and convinced by his reputation as a cop dirty cop who fears no one, Colonel Dantin, Head of the Unseen, he finally proposes to replace their dead comrade.
