The four geniuses are waiting for the examination result in the Scholar Hall while SHUM and TAK are finding out the name list for the selected five scholars. LING decides to play a trick when he knows that their names are all on the name list and MING is one of the candidates for the best scholars selection. The names of the fourth and third runner-ups are announced, but do not include any of the four geniuses. MING and SHAN are extremely nervous. Finally, BUN wins second runner-up and proposes a marriage to LIN immediately. None of the other three geniuses, however, are selected. MING collapses and promises that he will come first in the next examination after being comforted by TING. SHAN wonders how he can gather money now to pay off KUK’s debt.
