FUNG tells FUN to elope with SING and start a new life. She is willing to help them. YUK is angry that FUNG has told FUN the truth and admits that she will do anything to ensure YEUNG become the Superintendent. FUN blames her for ruining her chastity and reputation. YUK argues that she bears bad luck and should accept her fate meekly. CHI KWAN disappears and HEI is furious. TO manages to send her back. TO refuses to accept HEI’s reward. He only wants to take SING as his godson and asks HEI not to bother with SING’s marriage. However, HEI refuses. FUNG proposes to send CHI KWAN to the city to cure her illness, but HEI wants her to stay until she recovers her memory. HEI lets CHI KWAN listen to her favorite song in the hope she will remember the past, but the song only makes FUNG sad. The bandit escapes and HEI suspects he is still hiding in his house.
