Towards the end of the Ching Dynasty, China was in the middle of a revolution. A plantation owner, YU-HIN, have only one teenage daughter, YIK-CHEE. When his wife is pregnant again, they were excited. YIK-CHEE is promised to KU LAI-CHUN, a son of a wealthy man, KU MOU-KUEN. The two families are pre?paring for the wedding. YU-KAI, YU-YIN's half brother, didn't get a warm welcome, because he was made a eunuch and that shames the family.
