The story begins with the stage performance of Kam Yin, the leader of a performing troupe called Ha Fei. Hung-hung, the main star of Hai Fei, does not come when the show is about to begin. After the show, Hung demands Yin for a higher pay. Yin feels she is being pressed and in a passive role. She asks the favor from Yuk-fung, one of her best friends, for inviting the wife of the owner of Lai Tak Entertainment Company to a mahjong gathering.
