Gangadhar is convinced that Peshwa's proposal was sent to make him reject the marriage. Sakhu and Janki refute Tatya Dixit's claim when he says that the gift for Gangadhar came from their own province. Tatya Tope leaves Gangadhar's court with a rejection from Gangadhar. It is Moti, who had replaced the Peshwa's gift with a dead lizard. Captain Manson is shocked on seeing Manu alive while she investigates her accident. Later, Gangadhar meets Tatya Tope and accepts the marriage proposal.
