Gangadhar wants Samar Singh and Karma to be released. Lord Dalhousie refuses to get them released as he pleads helplessness. Gangadhar tells him that Jhansi will not bear the expenses of the army battalion stationed in Jhansi. Dalhousie is shocked. Samar Singh saves Karma when he is attacked in the prison grounds. Samar Singh is shocked when Kundan confesses to him that he stole the necklace on Nelson's behest. Kundan tells Samar and Karma that Nelson has killed Ross. In the court, Samar Singh and Karma try to signal a message to Laxmibai about the locket. Laxmibai is shocked when Nelson proves Samar Singh killed Captain Ross. When the judge is about to pronounce his sentence, Laxmibai asks the judge permission to seek blessings from Samar Singh. Samar manages to tell Laxmibai that Kundan is a witness who can prove his innocence.
