After the drinking fiasco by Popatlal and Champaklal in the society the previous night, Bhide and others decide to have a meeting at Champaklal's house to find a permanent solution to the ghost problem. By mistake, Popatlal blurts out almost everything to Jethalal over the phone, so Jethalal decides to come back from Pune the same day.
