A young girl, Sumati, rushes to Sai asking for his help to save her family. Sai requests Kulkarni to allow them a few more days to repay the loan which Sumati’s father had taken from him, but Kulkarni rejects this request. He declares that Sumati’s entire family will serve as bonded labourers till the repayment of the debt. Meanwhile, Ashok, Sumati’s younger brother, is worried about his studies.
