QIAO ER meets CONCUBINE GIN when she reaches heaven. They become very good friends. Under GIN's guidance, QIAO ER comes to realize the meaning of life and death. In order to win the opportunity of rebirth, she has to do good.
KE ER faces the crisis of poverty after her sister's death. She is nearly homeless for she has not a dime to pay the rent. QIAO ER is like an ant on the boiling pan since now she is a ghost, she cannot lend a helping hand.
