SHEUNG has decided not to risk her life for the operation. Gateux’s patent will expire soon. PAUL suggests competing with their competitor, the GA LIN Corporation, in a contest. Paul resigns as soon as LAI has announced the competition. To her huge surprise and disappointment, PAUL is one of the shareholders of GA LIN. His egging LAI into competing with GA LIN is nothing more than his stratagem to control Gateux. LAI realizes only then that she should not have trusted him. With the help of YIU, KEI is reconciled with her master. SHEUNG learns from KEI’s experience that teacher-and-student conflicts bring only bad consequences. YIU reveals to SHEUNG that she spoke ill of KAN because she was under the threat of LAI. SHEUNG regrets what she has done to KAN. She tells KEI her illness. KEI stands by her in fighting her illness.
