Pei-chi persuades Jui-fang to catch up with Yung Kuei, so that through her, she would come to know Chou Yung's activities. Jui-fang is convinced that she should go.

Hsiao-k'ang catches with Cho Yung and begs to join him. Moved by his sincerity, Chou Yung agrees.

Chou and his gang get stuck with the rainy weather. Jui-fang catches up too. Li-hsing uses dirty means to force Jui-fang to leave. Jui-fang stands the insults and is determined to stay. Yung Kuei is touched by her determination and agrees to her stay.

Wei-lun conspires with Yumi to get rid of Pai-nien. They set up a trap for the Provincial Governor's mistress and Pai-nien to fall into. The Provincial Governor is made to believe his mistress has an affair with Pai-nien, and dismisses him. Wei-lun then set him up selling toxic alcohol. Pai-nien then realizes Wei-lun's sinister acts. In great despair, Pai-nien kills himself……
