The women MAURY meets today are living in fear of their controlling, abusive boyfriends and husbands. They have courageously come to the show to try and change their livesâ€""to get help for the men who mistreat them or to get the strength they need to leave them. Juliane says she lives in fear of the love of her life Mike. She admits that he basically treats her like dirt but she still loves him. Mike says Juliane better listen to him and do what he says without a fussâ€""or else. Monique has tears in her eyes before MAURY even introduces her. Her husband Charles refers to her as ‘his property’ and he controls her every move. Emma was also in a controlling, abusive relationship but she never thought her husband would try to kill her.
