The prosecutor questions the validity of FAN’s statements. Finally FAN decides to tell the truth and he is found guilty of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. FAN pleads guilty by letter and VINCENT tries to defend him as best as he can. Despite this, FAN gets punished for what he did. In the chamber, LING gives VINCENT a few words of comfort. All of a sudden, VINCENT takes her in his arms, holding her tightly and trying to kiss her. LING struggles and immediately pushes him away. Meanwhile, BEN passes by and notices everything. He urges VINCENT to stop it at once but VINCENT gets furious and tells him off for throwing his father in prison. LING stands up for BEN and gives VINCENT a good dressing-down. She emphasizes that she has already broken up with VINCENT, which leaves him heartbroken. VINCENT reveals to LING that BEN has been in love with her and means to speak ill of him.
