--Charlton Heston at Northwestern University. Ed talks with Heston about his days at Northwestern. Heston recites the Carl Sandburg poem ""Chicago."" --Mahalia Jackson (gospel singer) sings ""How Great Thou Art"" to group of children.

--Benny Goodman (clarinetist) - ""Running Wild"" and, at the Art Institute, plays with Chicago's Fine Arts String Quartet. --Bob Newhart (stand-up comedy routine: school for bus drivers, Chicago) Segment probably filmed at Loyola University. --Edgar Bergen (ventriloquist, with Charlie McCarthy) - Bergen wears a Viking helmet while they tell a story about the Vikings.
