Lawyer Kikuchi is asked by an unknown boxer, Seno, whom he met while jogging one morning, to defend a boy named Mamoru who is accused of murder. Mamoru is an 18-year-old college entrance exam repeater who lives with his mother, Yasuko, who works as a telephone operator.
