Munich in the late 1970s. 18-year-old Annemarie Ostermeier, a girl from the low-income area of ​​Giesing, dreams of becoming famous. The aspiring legal assistant wants to escape the narrow-mindedness of the middle class. At a beauty contest in a nightclub, she catches the eye of photographer Claus. After he persuades Annemarie to do a test shoot, he manages to get the pictures published in Playboy. Annemarie becomes a star overnight.
